Sometimes, learning needs to look a little different.

Not every young person thrives in a classroom.

For some, school can feel overwhelming. They may struggle with confidence, anxiety, attendance, communication, relationships or simply finding a place where they feel they belong.

Changing Lives Through Horses offers a different environment, one where learning happens through horses, practical activities, trust and real experiences.

At MEC, we give young people the time, space and support to take things at their own pace, discover what they can do and begin to believe in themselves again.

A place to learn, without the pressure

CLTH provides a supportive, practical and structured environment where young people can learn.

Sessions may involve:

Horse care & stable management - Learning how to safely care for and work around horses.

Practical learning - Developing responsibility, organisation, problem-solving and independence through real tasks.

Communication & relationships - Learning to communicate, listen, work alongside others and build trust.

Building confidence - Recognising achievements, overcoming challenges and developing belief in their own abilities.

Personal development - Working towards individual goals at a pace that feels achievable.

Sometimes a young person doesn't need to be told to try harder.

Sometimes they need someone to help them find a different way forward.

CLTH may be suitable for young people who are finding mainstream education difficult, are struggling with confidence or engagement, or would benefit from a practical, hands-on approach to learning.

We work with the individual — not just the difficulty they are experiencing.

Every young person is different, so sessions are shaped around their needs, interests, strengths and goals.

Someone who doesn't believe they can achieve something might successfully lead a horse through an exercise.

Not changing who someone is — but helping them discover what they are capable of.
